T-Cyte Therapeutics developed the first and only USDA-approved treatment aid for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Sale of their product (LTCI) is restricted to licensed veterinarians only. However, a large part of T-Cyte's marketing efforts are aimed at informing pet owners who can access the treatment through their veterinarian of choice. When T-Cyte starting using Google AdWords they opted to setup the ad campaigns themselves and handle the ongoing management in-house. After a few months they were interested in making the most of their advertising spend and they decided to investigate having Modmacro manage their AdWords campaigns. We discussed the solutions we provide and the philosophy we apply to cost-per-click (CPC) advertising. Specifically, we explained how we don't just manage the campaigns and the account; we optimize the ads on a monthly basis. We're constantly looking for ways to improve the effectiveness of the ads by driving more traffic to the site, while ensuring we target the right visitors, all the while maintaining a consistent budget from month to month. It's easy to throw money at Google Ads and get traffic. But getting the right traffic and keeping costs under control takes ongoing analysis and experience. We saw immediate improvements after taking over the campaigns. We provided an initial optimization of the ad text, keyword targets and overall strategy. We found that the ads were running out of budget almost every day, usually around 10pm. So there were about 2 hours each day when the ads simply weren't running.
