Cal-Pacific Contracting came to Modmacro with a dilemma. They liked the look of their current website (designed by a different web design company), but not how it was performing. On the surface, the website looked great. It had a clean, modern design and was simple to navigate. However, none of Cal-Pacific’s potential clients were seeing it! The website had no search engine optimization built into it, and therefore did not rank for any of the keywords that the company’s potential clients would be searching for. This is a major problem in a competitive industry like general contracting!

In designing Cal-Pacific’s new website, we used a similar color palette to their previous website, but substantially changed its layout. We also added several features that would improve the user experience and help visitors get a better understanding of the company and their vast experience in the general contracting industry.
We highlighted the company’s impressive body work in a portfolio. Potential clients can see photos of the high-end residential and commercial projects that Cal-Pacific has completed throughout Southern California and get a sense of their capabilities.
We also added detailed Service pages so visitors can easily determine if their upcoming project fits in with Cal-Pacific’s service offerings.
SEO and AEO Help Cal-Pacific’s Website Get Found by Potential Clients
Most importantly, the new website is set up well to be found by search engines like Google, as well as answer engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and others. Search engine optimization (SEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) were taken into account in every aspect of this website’s design!
Prior to the start of the website’s build, extensive keyword research was performed to determine which words and phrases potential clients were using when searching for a general contracting company. These keywords were then incorporated into the website’s headlines, as well as into the body copy throughout the site.
